BUSHELL *OFF* THE BOX
Garry Bushell is an award-winning pundit whose columns have been published in five UK national newspapers. He has also written for Sounds, Kerrang, Street Sounds, Vive Le Rock, Rock Candy, the Independent and the Modern Review.
Garry has appeared on more than 2,000 TV and radio shows including Noel's House Party, Newsnight, Celebrity Squares and the South Bank Show. Bob Monkhouse called him "a terrific writer". Harry Hill says he got the idea for his TV Burp series from Garry's Bushell On The Box column. And Al Murray claimed his Pub Landlord character was partially inspired by it. Richard Littlejohn describes Bushell as "the best one-liner merchant in Fleet Street." Roy Hudd called him "the Max Miller of the press". While Howard Stern once dubbed him "my Ambassador in England."
The son of a fireman, Garry was born in Woolwich, South East London. He began his career as a rock writer and band manager. He managed the Cockney Rejects, the Blood and Maninblack, was instrumental in getting Twisted Sister their first recording deal, and toured the globe with the likes of Iron Maiden, the Specials, Gary Moore, UFO and the Selecter.
